Chicago State University Library - part 4

Last of the photos! I'm now on the fourth and final floor of the CSU Library building, showing off its spaciousness.

Here's a big classroom/conference room.
This is the cafe. And, by cafe, I mean it's entirely bring-your-own-food and beverages. Judging by how clean it is, I have a sneaky suspicion that it's too out-of-the-way or too uninviting for most patrons to feel comfortable coming all the way up here just to open a bag of chips.

The walls are covered with photos of people -- some celebrities, like Tim Reid/Venus Flytrap here -- but without any context as to why. I gathered they were all award recipients, but...was it CSU that gave all the awards?

There's a museum quality exhibit on Gwendolyn Brooks here. Indeed, much of this space could be turned into museum-like exhibits, if it is not going to be used to house books.
Just imagine these chairs gone and replaced with vendor tables, and you have a great exhibition hall for a convention here!

This room surprised me; I had never encountered a prayer room in a non-religious university before.

The view out this window was too great to pass up without a photo.
And lastly: observed in the stairwell on the my way down from the fourth floor. I've never seen one of these before. Imagining myself strapped down to this cart as someone tries to wheel me down four flights of stairs feels terrifying; in case of fire, I wonder if I would choose to take my chances with the fire instead.
