Chicago State University Library - part 3

Yes, I have lots more pictures from CSU -- it was four floors, after all. Sorry in advance for the ones that were out of focus.

Like this one, of an old school microfilm reader. I was surprised to find their microfilm collection sitting in small boxes on shelves, available to everyone, when at my old library we always kept microfiche in storage.
I had to look harder to find these beauties -- USGS maps. There were a lot of map cabinets around the east end of the second floor, but only a few of them had anything in them. I hope people still go looking to find these gorgeous Antarctica satellite maps.
You'll get an accurate sense from a lot of these pictures of the wide open spaces the second through fourth floors have. It sure looks pretty here...

 And here...

But it was not until I got to this room that it occurred to me that one could easily hold a gaming convention in this library with all this space! Lots of play groups could use these tables.

Oops!  There is a cafe on the 4th floor, but the 1st floor cafe never happened; that space is going to be another computer lab.

I love this shot.

Now I'm on the third floor, outside the special archives room. This is the only place in the library with privacy screens around seating.
This is inside the special archives room, which is behind a locked door (you have to knock and have someone let you in). There are nice hanging banners, some historical objects with no explanatory text around them (like an antique typewriter that belonged to...?), and some historical Illinois Compiled Statutes going back really far that I took a photo of, but was too blurry to share.
