No, they didn't run out of shelves at CSU Library -- this was a big shelf-shifting project to put books back in Reference after a water leak from the third floor spilled down onto the second floor here. Ah, how this takes me back! I did so many big shelf-shifting projects.
*sigh* Out of focus pics again...
But I did find The Dictionary of Art, and after I'd just been discussing it with the librarians too!
Government documents! CSU still has a great big depository collection. This is one of the gov docs serials that is shelved in Reference, separate from the rest of the Gov Docs section.
Still in Reference (this was the biggest reference section I've seen in years). Here's another old favorite of mine I haven't seen in awhile, The Encyclopedia of the Renaissance.
Smile -- it's a copier! Just don't steal the paper, because that's a serious crime.
Golf pencils! That really took me back too. And this non-electronic reservation system ...pure nostalgia.
Here's another example of how fun the architecture is in the building, with the energy of the squiggly line over the recurring motif of square cut-outs in walls. It seems a shame to me, though, that nothing is being done with the empty squares. Each could be a display area for 1-2 books.
Now we're in the actual Gov Docs section. I was tempted to straighten the shelves, but figured I'd better not mess with things.
I remember this problem! The hearings section fills up so fast that you need to either weed it regularly or leave yourself a lot of room for growth. Here, the excess has been deposited on a cart because there's no room for it.
