I took a lot of pictures of the Barrington Area Library, so we'll probably still be looking at that today and tomorrow.
Here, I wanted to show you the range of study rooms it has. Far from an "all study rooms look the same" library, it's rooms run from hi-tech -
- to cozy -
- to a mix of hi-tech and cozy.
This is the entrance to the business lounge. Other libraries might be more inclined to call it a Makerspace Lab. There were things in there I couldn't even figure out what they did.
No, that's not a toaster oven, it's a 3D printer for wood!
This is actually back outside the computer area, on the side of that arch-couch I showed yesterday. Surrounded by more art on display is a giant monitor showing a video of the art being made (I'm not sure if that's what they always show, or if it's what they show when I happen to be there).
No, this isn't an entryway -- it's just the view in the staircase to the upstairs!
Auditorium-style seating for...well, I can't imagine what kind of programming they would have in this space, as it's actually pretty narrow (unless you took out the study tables to the left, which I can't show you here because they were in use).
But look -- BAPL isn't too hi-tech to ignore the needs of patrons who just need a pencil sharpened!
Looking down from above on the "art" exhibit in the main entrance hall. Makes me think about hanging up laundry to dry...
