Note to self: from the Bloomingdale Public Library,

Cahokia

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, which occupies some 5 square miles on the Mississippi River floodplain opposite St. Louis, Missouri, near Cahokia and Collinsville, southwestern Illinois, used to be a major Native American city. What happened to the large population that once lived there and what clues have been uncovered in its iconic earthen mounds? Join us for a lecture by Dr. John Staeck, professor of anthropology at the College of DuPage to find out more about this historic Native American site and the people who built it.
