Broken water pipe closes down kids' section of Gail Borden library; cleanup could take days, officials say
Subzero temperatures caused a burst pipe
this week at the Gail Borden Public Library in downtown Elgin,
temporarily shutting down KidSpace section. Although the
270 N. Grove Ave. library was closed to the public Wednesday and
Thursday due to the frigid weather, staff had been checking in on the
building 'pretty much around the clock,' said Denise Raleigh...
...If I wasn't working all weekend, I would have been there to take photos of what they had to do in response to the flooding.
