This is a great thing, that the Gail Borden Public Library has established such strong partnerships with local businesses that they have been able to secure deals with 28 businesses for up to 20% off your purchase at some places, all for showing them your library card.

I imagine they also got permission from Disney to use the likeness of The Incredibles in their advertising?

"1 hour of reading = $5 of fines waived

• Pick up a form from the Main Library (in KidSpace, Studio 270 or Customer Relations), the Rakow Branch or South Elgin Branch.
• Reading can be done at home.
• There is no limit to the amount of fines that can be waived!"

Punishing kids and making them afraid to check out more books was never a good use of overdue fines. But as an incentive to read more, I like!
