Three local libraries to close after funds eliminated in Macon-Bibb budget
"Macon, GA-- Three
of the four libraries in the county will close indefinitely on Monday
after the Macon-Bibb County Commission passed a new budget that
eliminated funding for the system, which served more than 600,000 people
in fiscal 2017..."
For every community like Janesville, pulling it all together with the right priorities, there's going to be short-sighted people, like in Macon, cutting what matters most out of their communities. Hopefully that commission is removed from office swiftly and funding restored -- what usually happens after enough public outcry.
