Because, for a branch, this place has a really sharp collection. Check out this complete set of Strangers in Paradise -- a must-have for any library collecting comic books aimed at adults.
While, at the same time, appealing to the adult with a developed sense of history, but still in touch with his or her inner child (like me), here is a great run of golden age Superman Archives, and at a time when a depressing number of libraries no longer have golden age archive books at all anymore.
Note the practice of not packing shelves tight, and leaving plenty of room on the end for mini-displays (like of this -- ooo, another Beatles book I haven't read...).
Here is an even bigger/better mini-display on sci-fi & fantasy books, taking advantage of all that open shelf space (which is great, but what will you do for displays after you buy more books...?)

Speaking of needing to read, this photo was to remind me to get a copy of Slugfest: Inside the Epic, 50-year Battle between Marvel and DC (a manufactured "crisis" made to sell books, but should be an entertaining read, I think).
Tax forms! Well-labeled shelves, though they could have had a more open location, and one that didn't require so much bending over (remember, a lot of our patrons who still want paper copy are seniors).
A decent, though not spectacular, board game collection.

Lots of books on display on top of the short shelving units!
