We're back on the "basement" level of the La Grange Park Public Library and getting asked the really tough questions in life, like What's your favorite Lucky Charm? I've seen interactive message boards like this in teen departments, but this was novel, finding on in children's.
The children's department is a great place to house local collections, like this one.
I love this idea; I wonder how often someone beats the drum? You could do something similar at any new books shelf (perhaps using a small bell instead of a drum), to give staff instant feedback as to how popular the new books are.
This fake tree would have gone even better in the Warrenville Public Library's children's department (if you'll recall the entrance there with its fake tree pillars). I don't recall anything else tree-themed in this room to match this too, unless you count the color of the chairs.
LOVE this room. Why stack your board games in the corner when you can make a permanent display out of them?
And I, surprisingly, don't see this often enough. Or rather, I don't see the answers to suggestion box suggestions posted as accessibly as right over the water fountain.
