Guest book blogger time!

I did just recently start reading something new, but I'm not ready to discuss it yet. So I went to my mother, who reads way more than even I do.

She's reading this right now. She found it a fascinating read about the long history of the concept of "white trash" -- England thought it was sending its "white trash" to their colonies, which is how we got the U.S.A. -- and how subjective the concept of "white trash" is -- before the Civil War, the South thought the North was full of "white trash," and that's why they thought they would win the Civil War easily.

She recommends it, and that's good enough for me!
