Gail Borden Public Library revisited

One of the benefits of visiting my local libraries a lot is that I can go back and see things I missed the first time around.

Like, in Elgin, the Gail Borden Public Library rotates a lot of different museum-quality exhibits, but this one permanent exhibit escaped my notice last time. Does your library have its history publicly posted somewhere in the building?

And this is a great service I've seen nowhere else -- circulating umbrellas!  I'm sure they don't get checked out a lot...but I can remember several occasions in the past when it was pouring outside and I had to wrap my library books in plastic, or inside my coat, to try and keep them dry. If only my library had circulating umbrellas then!
