Continuing through the upper floor of the library...
Though nowhere near as spectacular as Gail Borden's museum exhibits, Glen Ellyn seems to have taken a page from the same playbook and wanted to highlight the educational possibilities of the public library. So this is just one example of the small displays throughout the upstairs area on watersheds. I imagine this is temporary and they will be rotating in a new display-show soon.
I loved this detail! The library not only has study rooms, but each study room is named after a famous author. I dearly wanted to photograph the J.R.R. Tolkien room, but it was occupied and I didn't want to disturb the man inside.
And how cozy does this study room look? I wish I had a living room this nice.
Of course, I made sure to stop by the graphic novel section. Here you can see an impressive run of Dick Tracy volumes; the Barrington Area Public Library is the only one I know that has more.
Ooo, look at that! No less than three copies of Bryan Lee O'Malley's underrated gem Seconds!
Charging stations are becoming such a common thing at libraries that this one required no signage at all to explain it. Also, its colorful plugs make it stand out so you can't miss it.
And lastly, well, I love these hand dryers. So much better than the ones we grew up with!
