Services for District Residents
"You don't need to be a COD student or employee to take advantage of Library resources. People living and working in District 502 can also use COD Library collections and services..."
I liked a lot about my visit to COD, but I liked that I could go back there at any time -- with or without my potential student son, and partake of the library. You can read more about what services they offer for non-students here: https://www.codlrc.org/district, and it's pretty much everything.
I felt very welcome in the COD Library, despite being over twice the age of the students. One of the things that made me feel so welcome was how accessible the computers were. No library card needed, no guest passes, no sign-in sheet -- you just walk up to any computer you want and start using it! I can remember a time when public library computers were like that, but I really have to go back some years in my memory to get there.
