The difficulty of archiving public comments

DuPage County, Illinois, is working on a transportation plan and they are hoping to crowdsource public comments. They have a map that looks like this so far:




















Each of those blue squares represents a submitted comment so far. But, if you were a local documents librarian, how would you go about archiving this? Creating a catalog record that points to the website would be the easiest option, but it does nothing to save the history of the crowdsourcing effort. At the other extreme, you could copy each comment into a Word document, creating a timeline of them and adding new ones each day, but now you're creative a derivative work and one that sounds very time-consuming.

Food for thought. For now, there's not much on the page, but it will be interesting to come back later once they have reports.
